Subject to performance review and continued requirement. This is not a regular permanent posting and does not lead to automatic absorption.
NTPC shortlists based on qualification, percentage of marks, and number of years of post-qualification experience. Mere submission of an application does not guarantee shortlisting; management may also raise minimum eligibility standards.
If applicant volume is high, NTPC will conduct a CBT to further filter candidates. Pattern, syllabus and centres will be notified separately on careers.ntpc.co.in.
Shortlisted/qualifying candidates are called for a Personal Interview. Final selection rests on Interview performance. NTPC may use any combination of CBT + Interview, or Interview alone, at its sole discretion.
Originals of all educational, experience, category and identity documents are verified. Any incorrect/false information or material suppression cancels the candidature automatically — even after appointment.
Mandatory at an NTPC hospital. No relaxation in health standards. Detailed medical norms are published on careers.ntpc.co.in — review them before applying.
Selected candidates receive an offer for engagement on Fixed Term basis. Posting can be at any NTPC Station / Project / JV / Subsidiary; the role is transferable at NTPC's sole discretion.

Rs. 500 for Gen/OBC/EWS (male). SC/ST/PwBD/XSM and all female candidates are exempt. Pay online (Net Banking / Debit / Credit Card) OR offline via SBI challan (A/C 30987919993, CAG branch, code 09996) using only the portal-generated pay-in-slip.
Once submitted, download the application slip with the unique application number. No documents are to be sent to NTPC by post. No edits are allowed after submission. Save the slip for all future reference.
